The NDTA HONSHU CHAPTER was organized and established in 1999 at the Kanto Plains, Japan. 



NDTA is an educational, non-profit organization dedicated to fostering a strong and efficient transportation system in support of national defense. It is an organization for Commercial, Government, and Military Professionals.

Established in 1944 as the "Voice of Defense Transportation"


Our membership is open to both companies and individuals


Producers of Transportation/Logistics Forums, Expositions, and other events

 

Producers of the Defense Transportation Journal, the leading educational journal in Defense Transportation and Logistics, as well as other publications


Provides extensive educational scholarships, networking, and mentoring programs for young professionals


Established five major committees to pursue specific issues: Airlift, Sealift, Surface, Business Practices, and Passenger Travel Services



 
Mission Statement
To foster a strong and efficient global transportation and distribution system to support the economy and national security of the United States by:

• Advancing the knowledge and science of transportation/distribution within government and industry.

• Facilitating the sharing of knowledge between government and transportation /distribution related industries.

• Educating members on the important issues affecting the global transportation

CONSTITUTION & BY-LAWS
Objectives of NDTA

1. To provide a common forum to discuss and endorse programs that promote transportation preparedness for economic and security needs.

2. To provide active assistance, in a non-partisan capacity, to government agencies involved in peacetime and defense preparedness transportation planning.

3. To serve as a link between government and industry to obtain the needed cooperation and support necessary for strong and efficient transportation systems.

4. To assist in the transportation education of young executives who plan to pursue a career in transportation through our NDTA Foundation (Scholarship program) and mentoring.

5. To support continued reliance on the private enterprise systems of ownership and operation of transportation.

6. To support, conduct and assist programs of transportation education and scientific research and development among private, industrial, educational and government agencies, which are designed to increase the effectiveness, economy and responsiveness of the transportation industry and allied services to defense needs.

7. To foster a spirit of patriotic and cooperative goodwill, cooperative endeavor and mutual understanding among its members, industrial entities, components of the transportation industry, the Armed Forces and Government agencies concerned with transportation.
